I have been taking about 15 minutes every night to politely unsubscribe from all sorts of junk mail.
There was a time when I loved leafing leisurely through a home or clothing catalogue, but now it just seems terribly wasteful. I can just go online to look. What do I really need anyway? The latest Halloween thingy to decorate my house? NO!
I have taken the time to find the emails and editors to unsubscribe from the Chevrolet New Roads magazine, my real estate agent house sale notifications, all kinds of home and clothing magazines. Sometimes it takes a while but it seems worth it. I'll let you know when the mail slows down.
Also: what do I need this for? If I want new car insurance, I'll look for it:
So I also tried this website: https://www.optoutprescreen.com/ for credit related pre-approval stuff (like above) that I immediately always trash. Opting out of this was tricky, and I had to do it twice, once for me and once for my husband:

Finally, you have to actually print out and mail the darn thing:
It's a pain -- I'll update you but hopefully it works!
